Game Farmville

According to Techcrunch, Zynga is planning on making Farmville playable outside of Facebook at Farmville.com via the Facebook Connect program. This should be fantastic news for people who have Facebook blocked at work or school and still want to be able to enjoy some quality time with their farm.

Of course, Zynga has opted to use the Facebook Connect program largely due to the fact that they are still building solely on the Facebook platform and for good reason. Facebook enabled Farmville to grow to over 65 million players. That is six times larger than World of Warcraft.

You will still need to have a Facebook account to play Farmville, so that much hasn’t changed. It should still more or less be the same experience so if you like Farmville, this just means you have one more place to play.

Also, if you haven’t been to Farmville.com, it no longer redirects to the Zynga.com website. It’s actually a pretty nice looking game portal.

The basic gameplay of Farmville is extremely simple. It’s a farming simulator that allows you to grow crops, buy animals, and decorate your property as you see fit. You are given limited resources in two different forms of currency, so you must make choices about how you spend it. Read more…
